4 Days Rwanda Gorilla Tracking Safari
Under this safari, one will enjoy a lot of activities that will yield an ever lasting experience to the visitor as it will include; gorilla tracking, Kigali city tour, Dian fossey and a lot more. Below is the proposed itinerary for this kind of safari;
Day 1: Arrival and pick up
You will be picked up by our driver /guide and be driven straight away for dinner and overnight at Kigali Serena hotel [luxury], The Manor hotel [mid range] or Chez Lando hotel [budget].Meal plan here is F/B.
Day 2: City tour and Transfer to volcanoes national park
Rise up early in the morning and have your breakfast. Then embark on a long city tour of Kigali. Visit the genocide memorial site at Gisozi, the first house, the national museum, do some shopping and then return to the hotel for lunch. After lunch set off for the long drive to volcanoes national park in Musanze district. Check in at Mountain gorilla view lodge [luxury], La palm hotel [mid range] or Muhabura hotel [budget].Meals here are based on F/B.
Day 3: Gorilla tracking
Rise up very early in the morning and have breakfast and thereafter proceed to volcanoes national park in Musanze district. Head straight to the park offices for briefing about the gorillas and allocation of gorilla groups and guides. Thereafter get into the tropical rain forest and search for the mountain gorillas starting from where they were the previous day until you find them. You will find them doing their daily chores of feeding their young ones, climbing trees and others just relaxing. Take your best photographs having switched off your flash. This whole exercise takes a maximum of 1 hour and then return to the park offices for your gorilla tracking certificate. Return to the hotel for lunch and some relaxation. In the evening you may visit the Banyarwanda village or go for nature walks then return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.Meal plan here is F/B.
Day 4: Dian Fossey hike and Transfer to Kigali
This day, you will go for Dian Fossey hike at Karisoke research centre, where Dian, an American anthropologist spent years researching and conserving the gorillas before she was killed and is buried there next to Digit, a silverback gorilla. You may encounter primates like vervet monkeys, golden monkeys, gorillas on the way to the research centre and then return to the hotel for lunch. Then afterwards drive to Kigali and be dropped to the airport for your departure flight if it is on schedule and thus the end of the tour.
