13 Days Budget Uganda Safari

Under this kind of safari, the client will be left speechless as it will entail viewing Uganda’s rich heritage. Whatever makes Uganda the pearl of Africa will be viewed under this safari like gorillas, chimpanzees, wildlife as well as hiking the various mountains and hills. Below is the proposed itinerary for this safari;

Day 1: Arrival

You will be welcomed by our company representative upon your arrival at Entebbe airport and transferred to the Lodge where you will unwind, dinner and overnight stay at Minister’s village hotel. Meals are on BB

Day 2; Transfer to Murchison falls National Park

You will wake up very early in the morning and enjoy morning breakfast and drive to Murchison falls national park. It will take you around 5 hours from Kampala with about 305 km. You will have a stop over at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary and wildlife ranch which is the only home of Rhinos in Uganda. You will visit the top of the falls and then proceed to Sambiya River Lodge (Bandas) for dinner and overnight stay. Meals here are on F/B basis

Day 3; Game drive and launch cruise – Murchison Falls

Early morning breakfast and then go for a game drive where you will spot various animal species like elephants, giraffes, lions, Uganda Kobs among others. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise on the park’s main tourist attraction the unique Murchison Falls as well as the River Nile with its streaming hippo and serried ranges of crocodile along the sandbanks, as well as large numbers of different species getting down to drink & bathe. Return to the hotel for Dinner and overnight. Meals here are on F/B

Day 4; Transfer to Kibale National Park.

You will have breakfast and then drive to Kibale. This is a full day drive. You will have lunch en-route. Dinner and overnight stay at Crater Valley Kibale

Day 5; chimpanzee trekking- Kibale forest

Take early morning breakfast and go for briefing and start chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795km2 National Park contains one of the most beautiful and with the most varying tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda. This is place to a number of forest wildlife, most especially 13 species of primate coupled with chimpanzees. After trekking you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoilt nature! Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at Simba safari camp.

Day 6; Game drive and launch cruise

You will go for early morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector; you may spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda Kobs, leopards among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise where you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds. After wards return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight. Meals here are on F/B

Day 7; Transfer to Bwindi NP

After having your morning breakfast, you will set off for Bwindi passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where you may spot some tree climbing lions. You will have lunch en-route, arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Nkuringo campsite

Day 8; Gorilla trekking Day

After an early morning breakfast you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing and go for gorilla trekking, this could take 4-6 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas. After trekking, meet your driver and transfer to Kisoro town. Dinner and overnight at Traveler’s rest hotel.

Day 9; Gorge Walk.

You will have breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a guided nature walk hiking into Mgahinga. A hike through the forest to the deep Sabinyo Gorge – a massive gash in the flank of Mount Sabinyo – provides good birding opportunities and the chance to find the Rwenzori Turaco. This walk takes four hours and passes through the Rugezi Swamp which is fantastic for bird watchers. The walk to the Congo border transcends different vegetation zones. Hikers can sight the calderas on top of the Gisozi hill, look out for Kisoro and Bunagana towns and be captivated by Lake Mutanda.

Later return and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi with lunch en-route. Take a boat cruise along Lake Bunyonyi visiting the various islands and interacting with the locals. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi overland resort.

Day 10; Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will enjoy your morning breakfast and transfer to Lake Mburo national park with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Lake Mburo Safari Lodge

Day 11: Game drive-Kampala

You will go for an early morning game drive; the park is home to herds of Impala, as well as the more uncommon Topi, Eland, and Klipspringer. Burchells Zebra and buffalo also graze these areas. Return to the lodge for late breakfast and lunch, and then drive back to Kampala. Dinner and overnight at Minister’s village hotel

Day 12: Full Day White water rafting – Jinja.

You will enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to Jinja for full day white water rafting including mid-morning breakfast and lunch. Later return to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Minister’s village hotel

Day 13; Airport Transfer

You will enjoy breakfast and transfer to Entebbe airport for your flight back home with fond memories of a Uganda safari! Or depending on your flight schedule, have a brief city tour of Kampala, enjoy lunch and later transfer to the Airport and thus the end of the safari;

This safari includes;
