7 Days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari

This 7 day safari takes you through Uganda’s most accredited national parks like Queen Elizabeth NP and Bwindi impenetrable NP that boast of the prominent wild games especially the big five. It will also encompass tracking gorillas as well as bird watching not forgetting cruising on the ecstatic Kazinga channel. The proposed itinerary for this kind of safari is as follows;

Day 1: Pick up and drive to Kibale

Wake up vary early in the morning and have breakfast then steadily drive to Kibale national park through Fort portal via the rolling hills of Mubende.You will break up en-route for lunch and then proceed to the park reaching in the evening and check in at Ndali Lodge / Mantana Tented Camp for dinner and overnight. Meals are on F/B

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking

Rise up very early in the morning and have breakfast then afterwards proceed to the forest headquarters for briefing about the chimps before heading to the forest for actual tracking of these primates. This search for chimps will also provide you with an opportunity to see other primates, for instance, the Bush babies, colobus monkeys, Mangabeys, pottos and many more. Return to your hotel for lunch and some relaxation. In the evening head to Bigodi swamp to look out for stunning flora and fauna. Then retire to your hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Nature walks and drives to Queen Elizabeth NP

Wake up very early in the morning and have your breakfast then afterwards leave for a nature walk in the foot hills of mountain Rwenzori.This is one of the most mountain ranges in the world. Look at its highest peak Margherita and then head to your hotel for lunch. In the evening drive to Queen Elizabeth national park reaching in the evening and check in at Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game drive and boat cruise

Rise up very early in the morning before 7 am and have breakfast and then move into the park for game drive. This early morning drive will enable you to catch a glimpse of some animals returning to their dens from their night preys. Such animals will include the big five [elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes], hyenas, warthogs, alibi, silver buck etc.Move to the hotel for lunch and refreshments. In the evening go for boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which connects lakes George and Edward and then afterwards return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meals are F/B

Day 5: Relocate to Bwindi forest

Wake up very early in the morning and embark on the long drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park through the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth NP known as Ishasha having lunch at Ishasha River. Move into Gorilla Resort [mid range] or Buhoma Community Bandas [budget].Meals are on FB.

Day 6: Gorilla tracking

After a morning heavy breakfast and with packed lunch you will transfer to the park offices for briefing and then later on at 9:00 am commence the gorilla trek along the tracks in the thick forest searching for these great apes. Depending on the movement of these humble giants the trek might take between 2-9 hours before you encounter the Gorillas. Though the walk is tiresome meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes, is an exhilarating and heartbreaking wildlife encounter that Africa has to offer. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Return to Kampala

Have breakfast early morning, after get briefed by your guide before driving back to Kampala. You will have lunch en route at Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara plus a visit to a cultural museum. You may stop at Mpabire and have a talk with the local drum makers who will demonstrate how these drums are crafted but also have a drumming session using the very drums.

Arrive in Kampala late evening which marks the end of this Uganda gorilla safari trip.

Your overnight shall be at The Lodge-Lweza for your quick and jam free air port transfer at your chosen time.
